Lost at sea.

“Some steps need to be taken alone, it’s the only way to really figure out where you need to be” – Mandy Hale.

Life is full of endless decisions and impossible choices; questions as minute as what we’re going to have for dinner, or which way we’re going to drive to work. Then there’s those choices where the outcome can make or break you. What you once knew just disappears before your eyes. In these moments you find yourself questioning everything, critiquing every aspect of that decision to ensure it was the right one. Sometimes the decision you make doesn’t always turn out the way you wanted it to. However, saying this out loud and admitting this to yourself is a challenge most people aren’t willing to face and would rather just watch it disappear into the distance. It doesn’t matter what type of person you are, no one ever likes to admit when their wrong, it’s human nature.

In life I tend to care too much about others, and their thoughts and emotions than I do for myself. Some people would see putting others first as a positive trait, but sometimes you have to put yourself first, and consider your own conscience and well being before others. Although things may not have always been perfect, they were perfect for you, and it’s not until you let go that you realise what you’ve left behind.

Feelings are a funny thing, the emotion you feel for someone can literally develop overnight, however letting go of these feelings can take weeks, months, and sometimes even years. As happy as you may feel in a situation, if you can’t let go of the past then you’re not making way for the future. Different people effect you in different ways, you could care for somebody unconditionally but it doesn’t mean that they can replace what you once had with somebody else. I feel the more pressure you feel from a situation, the harder it is to let go and move forwards. When you feel like you’re stuck in a dilemma where all eyes are on you, and your words can effect so many people, it’s an unsettling feeling, a feeling I wouldn’t wish upon anybody.

Sometime’s in life you just have to take a step back and enjoy the journey, don’t try and force happiness or rush into something that you’re not ready for…if it’s meant to be, it will be.

Love, Luce ♥
